6: A Life Once Lost - Iron Gag
I was really surprised the first time I listened to this album. I didn't expect anything good out of it. Hunter was a great album, and I didn't think they could top it. I guess wrong. You have songs like The Wanderer that make you wanna sing a long to it, and others like Firewater Joyride that just wanna make you punch a kid out in a mosh pit. I strongly recommend this album.
5: Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold
After a piece of garbage like City of Evil, I had little to no expectations for this album. You might have read my review on this album that I wrote awhile back, so you kind of know what I have to say about it. I listened to it over and over again, and it grew on me more and more. Main reason why it's in this list. Matt's (M. Shadows) voice got much better and to me, it's what made the album a lot better than City of Evil. Dear God is the only reason why this album isn't higher than the 5th position.
4: Kanye West - Graduation
Before listening to Graduation I wasn't even a Kanye West fan. Songs like Barry Bonds, Homecoming, Good Morning, and Can't Tell Me Nothin' make this album great. I'm not a big fan of rap, but this album kept me into it from song one to song thirteen. I also like how there are a lot of artists on this CD.
3: Dillinger Escape Plan - IRE Works
Since this album has hit the shelves, I've been listening to it at least once a day. I love it! Like I said for A Life Once Lost, I didn't expect too much from this album especially after Miss Machine. I never thought they could top it, let alone make a better album. Once again, I was wrong. This CD is just as good, if not better than Miss Machine. DEP are the kings of Math Metal. They just regained their title with IRE Works.
2: Raine Maida - The Hunter's Lullaby
I was never a fan of Our Lady Peace, so I was pretty lucky to find out about Raine Maida's solo album. Finally MTV came in handy lol.
1: Atreyu - Lead Sails Paper Anchor
When Atreyu released The Curse, they quickly became my favorite band. And then A Deathgrip On Yesterday came out... It had a few good songs, but the rest was nothing great. I still considered Atreyu as my favorite band, but I knew that if their next album wasn't gonna be as good or better then The Curse, they would lose their title lol. I expected a lot out of this album, and I got exactly what I was waiting for. Every track on Lead Sails Paper Anchor are the most played on my iPod and on my iTunes. I wonder why.
